My dealerships will only let me put $5,000 on a card now a days, was able to put $10,000 once in the late 90s. May take the entire amount now if you want to pay the CC processing fee,but only @future would do that.
I tried putting a new motorcycle on my card a few years ago so I could get the points but they wanted to charge me 3% for anything over $3k so I would've been at loss even with the points. Then the second kick in the ass was they wanted to hOLd my pErSOnAl cHeCk and I couldn't take the bike home that day. We'll I wasn't making a three hour drive back so I had to drive like a half hour away to my nearest bank branch and get the cash.
