Yesterday I went grocery shopping and my store was out of my usual, Blue Moon. So for the hell of it, I bought some Coors, haven't had it in two or three decades. This reminded me of a story, I swear this is true. At one time, Coors wasn't sold East of the Mississippi River. So people that couldn't get it acted like it was the Nectar of the Gods or something. That's where the theme from "Smokey and the Bandit" came from in 1977. About 1974, when I was sixteen I got a case from my older cousin. She knew somebody in UPS Feeders, and an empty trailer was moved from Texas to Atlanta. Somebody had it filled with cases of Coors on the way back. My cousin's house was filled from floor to the ceiling with cases of Coors beer. So you could visit her and buy a case of Coors or an ounce of pot. Once they started selling it here, it became no big deal.
