I left during the talk of buyouts Turned out mechanics were not included anyway but it did not affect my decision. Only regret I didn’t go earlier is how I feel now. Thanks to many on browncafe they help me make the change and not one was wrong. I just live on less and my freedom to be with family and looking out the window at the cold and snow is such a relief to be home. I honestly don’t think I could go back.
Too many people end up staring much longer than they needed to. Chasing an extra $100 per month. Or waiting to see what the next contract offers. I’ve never met anyone that regretted retiring. But I’ve met plenty that regretted not retiring sooner.
I totally get why people stick around until they’re illegible to use the retiree insurance though. Whoever has a spouse that has good employer providing insurance is sittin pretty.
