Is this any different than the part timers getting a bonus for showing up every day during Peak?I don't recall the union grieving that..
In my area, those PTer's are seasonal and not seniority employees.
I'll tell you what else pisses me off.There are sub contractors (Gypsies) pulling loads out every night and it's not even Peak. Stealing our work, and this is no problem with the union.BUT... the company actually wants to give us a little extra money, and this IS a problem.I get it, the union didnt get a cut. But isnt the two scenarios above a little ass backward?
So, when this happens and you grieve it, the Union refuses to process it?
That would piss me off too, but is hardly justification for every other local to roll "ovah" for blatant violations of multiple articles in this scenario.
BTW, the Union's cut is the same no matter what, 2.5X your hourly rate for every month you work.

I will ask you the same question I ask everyone, if this is on the up and up, why does the Company refuse to bargain over it?
No pro-buyout advocate has been able to give me a reasonable answer to that question.
