I remember some of the old head drivers flipping out about wanting time studies because we were a bonus center, and they were slowly whittling away the bonus that those guys had had . I have no idea why they could not figure out the bonus system was a scam. They really believe they were going to gain time back with a time study.
We still have the bonus system, but it’s an absolute joke and there’s almost no way to actually get it without cutting corners and breaking rules and isn’t even then it’s not much. It’s a fools errand.
Within months of bonus going in everyones allowances magically cut cut even without a time study. Some people were actually shocked it happened. We eventually voted out bonus. It was a scam and encouraged bad habits by drivers trying to cut corners. Not to mention the rampant selfishness of those trying to get bonus. Not like when I started and most drivers were very willing to help each other. Of course that was back on the days most people went out with about a 9 hour day.
