I swear, that place makes Reddit look like civilized humans.
I only use it for the image hosting but that comes with the unfortunate side effect of seeing the front page sometimes. By comparison Reddit at least has non-political subforums that are largely isolated from the rest of the site if not openly critical and mocking of it. Imgur's "community" on the other hand is an absolute irredeemable cesspool in the site's entirety with not a single area of refuge.
Charlie calmly and respectfully talked to people who didn't agree with him and he was killed for it. What was left of the political center likely shrunk quite a bit today.
WTF… A Private Jet left Provo Airport, which is a 12-minute drive from Utah Valley University, an hour after Charlie Kirk was shot.
30 minutes into the Flight, the Plane ILLEGALLY dropped off its ADS-B (which shows its Location, Altitude and Speed to Air Traffic Control), and… https://t.co/HqIAz8Y1Ny
Wait till it happens to one from their side of the fence and see the uproar.
The video of what physically happened to Charlie as he sat in his chair talking to college students is horrifying and he was only one person. We are in for a gigantic shitshow that's so much worse if the sides decide talking is over because it can't be done safely. Desperately hope that doesn't happen. If it does, the left might find that it chose a bad time to tell thousands or even millions of reasonable men to fuck off and join the right because they're white and straight or not ideologically pure to leftist standards.

I’m not an emotional person but, I won’t lie, I’ve shed a few tears over this. It’s as if by murdering Charlie Kirk they attacked everyone who believed as he did. People who believe in common sense and facts. I watched many of his videos and regardless of their views he always showed respect to people at his campus visits. He always countered with facts when challenged on something and never attacked the person for their beliefs. Because of his visits to universities many young people voted for the first time. What a movement he created for one so young. While devastated today, his parents must be so proud.

What was so damning for the Left is that, because of their sheer, gloating reaction to Charlie Kirk's assassination, they showed that this shooter wasn't just a crazy fluke.
They can no longer play that card.
In many ways, what is happening is not due to the assassination, but…
Conservative political commentator Steven Crowder obtained the document and posted it to X on Thursday morning before the press conference.
The document, which Crowder claims to have obtained from a credible source, describes the cartridges as bearing etched symbols including the transgender flag colors and phrases such as “Trans Rights Are Human Rights,” hinting at a premeditated act driven by radical beliefs.
EXCLUSIVE: This morning my team received an e-mail from officer at ATF.
The email included a screen shot from what appears to be an internal message describing a weapon and cartridges located by an ATF and other law enforcement near the scene of the Charlie Kirk shooting at… pic.twitter.com/UKtOUPY5DC
How the fuck is it that if I run a website that keeps dropping the word "retarded", Google will strike me down from above, but that POS can cheer on assassins, and keep his platform???

This world is so Goddamn upside down.
It's all about who is running what. Can you imagine if the Dems won the election and Kamala is running the country?
"The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in politics without fear of violence. To lose that is to risk losing everything. Charlie Kirk — and his family — just lost everything. As a country, we came a step closer to losing everything, too."

"You can dislike much of what Kirk believed and the following statement is still true: Kirk was practicing politics in exactly the right way. He was showing up to campuses and talking with anyone who would talk to him. He was one of the era’s most effective practitioners of persuasion. When the left thought its hold on the hearts and minds of college students was nearly absolute, Kirk showed up again and again to break it. Slowly, then all at once, he did. College-age voters shifted sharply right in the 2024 election.
That was not all Kirk’s doing, but he was central in laying the groundwork for it. I did not know Kirk, and I am not the right person to eulogize him. But I envied what he built. A taste for disagreement is a virtue in a democracy. Liberalism could use more of his moxie and fearlessness. In the inaugural episode of his podcast, Gov. Gavin Newsom of California hosted Kirk, admitting that his son was a huge fan. What a testament to Kirk’s project."

"Kirk and I were on different sides of most political arguments. We were on the same side on the continued possibility of American politics. It is supposed to be an argument, not a war; it is supposed to be won with words, not ended with bullets. I wanted Kirk to be safe for his sake, but I also wanted him to be safe for mine and for the sake of our larger shared project. The same is true for Shapiro, for Hoffman, for Hortman, for Thompson, for Trump, for Pelosi, for Whitmer. We are all safe, or none of us are."
