Same here. Some of the people i love and care about most in this world are hardcore Trump supporters and we disagree about most issues. Same with some of my friends and colleagues
we talk and argue politics, but 95% of the time we laugh and joke about other things in our lives

i see so many comments talking about it how people are ready for civil war and it just blows my mind. Not only just because I think they should read a history book and see how heavy and disastrous of an idea that is, but it’s just so ridiculous too the thought of wanting to kill your friends or neighbor or family because some psychopath killed someone

I also worry how often I see people online asking for their rights to be taken away in response to tragedies, and how easily that can be abused by the government. It is so much harder to get rights back after they’re taken away, and i dont doubt the government would take advantage of a tragedy to do so

I’ve honestly never seen anything as awful as I have on Reddit recently. Lots of nonsense spread about Charlie and I wasn’t super familiar with him so I did quite a bit of looking around.Charlie was not a bad person he had ideas and he was effective stating his case and the people who hated him are ineffective and hate him for his effectiveness. Mostly because their ideas are very paper thin. Based only on emotions. He was respectful in every instance way more respectful than I would’ve been. Because some of those people acted like animals. The young man who did this seems to have been raised by good parents who probably were busy maybe too busyand may not have paid attention to some of the things he was doing as a young impressionable kid. Someone got a hold of him and radicalized him and filled him full of hate. Hate enough to kill a man. I won’t cast judgment on these parents because in the last 15 or 20 years it’s been much easier to give a kid a computer or an iPhone and just let the device be the parent.The sad thing is when that bullet was shot directly there dozen of people affected more than just Charlie and the young man. A wife lost a husband kids lost a father.Parents lost a son who they may have not even realized they had already lost some time ago. Charlie Kirk didn’t deserve to be killed. I saw some clips of his and he said some very reasonable things. He also said some things that I think were very wrong.

I see a lot of people online celebrating his death. Saying he deserved it for the things he said. It’s sickening, but I also believe just as many people on the right would say similar things if a prominent member on the left was killed. and it’s because both sides of the people think they’re right. It’s because both sides think the other side is evil. The fact we even have “sides”, and can categorize a whole half of the country and put them in a box and characterize them as evil is sickening. George Washington warned heavily against two party system for this very reason
