I think it would be more helpful to actually have ice and water on your truck then air-conditioning in the cab.
We don’t keep those doors closed long enough to make a huge difference. And the back of the truck is where the heat is unbearable.

Yes they should. It's available in my building but I still get water and ice on route. I don't trust the ice machines or water fountains in the UPS building, just look how poorly everything else is maintained.

That's crazy. I've said it before on here but a couple years ago our fountains filter status light was red and I asked the cm to put in a work order to get the filter changed. Next day I watched plant engineering open it up and press a button to reset the filter light without changing the filter 🤢

UPS is not honoring the contract
I believe they have met all the obligations by the deadlines. They are supposed to by the skin of their teeth. And begrudgingly.
Cry baby drivers whining about ac where’s my ac loading the trailers that have been sitting in the sun all day?! At least you guys can get a breezeJust kidding… kinda not really actually, we should have just gotten more moneyDrivers are in and out of the trucks so much they probably won’t even notice lol. Management probably just went along with it so they can get some ac while they’re doing ride alongs tryin to write you guys up
I actually agree. I don’t think air-conditioning in the cab of my truck is going to really move the needle on keeping me cool. It’s the back of the truck that is the killer.

Physically for sure you’re right, I’ve driven seasonally and enjoyed it once I got the hang of it, but everyone on the site talks about how much it’s changed and the work life balance seems like shit sometimes. Just not sure if I want to commit to that. I have respect for the drivers, just not sure if it’s for me anymore

Thankfully and gratefully I make a solid wage inside the building and can do side jobs for the rest. Not as well paid as drivers but a little more freedom and less stress it seems

In some ways yes. But the first few years of driving can be quite a challenge for the new driver.
