Settle down

I wonder what law the lower court judge thought he could use to force the executive branch to spend money during a government shut down that they are not appropriated to spend?

UPS to ground all MD-11 planes immediately.

going into the busiest time of the year and putting about 10% of the fleet on the bench.

Do you think the pilots are refusing to fly them?

Fred ex did the same. 4% of their fleet.

Do you think the pilots are refusing to fly them?

Could be. My buddy is an American Airlines pilot and he said he would never fly a MD-11 again. He told me that the aviation community calls them the widowmakers.

Perhaps

I’ve been told they can be tricky to fly for different reasons. Landing is said to be the most tricky part.UPS had one hull loss around 10 years ago on a runway excursion. No fatalities I believe.FredEx has had three hull losses I believe. One was in Philippines, one flipped the plane on it’s back in Newark NJ and the video here in Toyko. All were during landing with no emergency going on. The Tokyo had fatalities. .28 seconds in shows it from the rear.

Lucky for him AA doesn’t run MD-11s.

You reap what you sow. Cargo airlines are pretty well-known for using older aircraft that the rest of the industry has moved away from.

You know at one point I actually regretted leaving UPS. But from what I hear, going on 8+ months now, drivers who had more seniority than me have been laid off without a route, working split shifts to pay the bills. Then I hear all the crap @badideaguy and @thebrownblob say is going on and I feel like I dodged a bullet.

Be glad you’re on the way out. That company is the Titanic and it’s probably about 1:00am.

Just plug the DC-8’s back in.🤡
