Working after retirement

Where do I find what we can do for work and can’t do? I know central states had many rules at one time. I’m in the ups teamsters fund fully until I’m 65 then 10 years of my 30 years is paid by central states. Not that I’m in a hurry but I can take a couple months and drive truck to see the country for a friends business. It’s hauling cattle no freight or packages. Online I’m seeing stuff like only so many hours before age 60 etc.

I don’t believe my Central States has any restrictions anymore. There didn’t seem to be any a couple of years ago when I was looking. There used to be some though.Maybe someone else knows for sure.@bigunionguy @thebrownblob

I thought I seen they removed all of them back before they bailed out central states. At that time I thought you had to be retired by a certain date. This is back when they were going to do cuts to all the retirees. Just talked to a retired friend he has been working no issues for 5 years now. Just checking to be safe

There are no restrictions when getting a job after retirement according to my local (769).I’m in the same retirement plan as @pkgdriver and you @mechanicinblue . I drove a tractor trailer for a guy(one day)and have had a part time job at a animal park for close to three years now.

Yep.

When we went into the new IBT/UPS plan, the only restrictions were you couldn't work for UPS or

or your Local Union. That went out the window when they started letting retired drivers to come back

for peak. Then.... a guy from Local 100 figured out how you could retire, collect your pension, and then

hold office in their Local Union. AKA @bubblehead (he wasn't the 1st)

I worked with two guys that left UPS and went to work for our Local. One right before I left the other took the buyout and went there

I would like to work for our local someday. I just was never a steward or anything. Just a long time supporter. For now I’ll go with my past steward when he goes to meetings being it’s so far away. For now I go to another locals monthly for retirees meetings. They take in all locals.

Both were long time Stewards.

Yea but both those guys were feeder. I think the one who took the buyout is going to be a BA, the other went to do if I remember social media for them.
