Sagamore Massachusetts closes 1/23/2026
Building closures/openings
I heard burtonsville MD is partially closing to renovate for automation in April. Don't know where the work will go. Their day sort moved to ezrpa a while ago. If they could've moved any more of the operation over there they would've already. Company thinks it will take a couple months to reopen so it will probably take a couple years.

Ours has been on hold
The Griffin Center in Griffin GA was recently closed and the work split between Forest Park and Macon.
the building had been leased since 1976 and was pretty run down. A PT steward kept calling OSHA over unsafe working conditions and the owner of the building decided it was more trouble than it was worth and declined to renew the lease when it expired

The company leases the buildings from a shell corporation

This building had been leased by the same LLC since 1976. It's a crappy building, I worked in it from 1985-1988 before moving to a new building that opened in another city.

Lots of the buildings are so called leased.

The same reason we don't have a permanent back up generator
It's all a shell game

The power went out at our building and they brought a generator inside a 53 foot trailer and ran the building off of it. It stayed in our yard for a long time after. Someone told me UPS owns it.

They share ine between 4 buildings here
I'm out of a neighboring center and we were shocked when we heard last week. Especially since last year they closed the new Kingston MA center they just built 5 years ago. That center took numerous routes from Sagamore, then of course those routes went back to sagamore this year. We can't imagine the remaining centers absorbing all these routes, we are all pretty full. Peak going forward will be damn near impossible to contain.

The power went out for several days at my building once. UPS needed a couple of days to find a generator because everyone else wanted them too.

The part timers have struck again
Wilmington Village closes January 26.
Lotsa package routes going to be split amongst other buildings.
Lol, they recently (maybe 2 years ago) put like 6 million dollars into upgrading this building...
