Building closures/openings

I've actually never seen them use the diesel pumps oddly enough.

Hardly. Any diesel. Package cars left

It's funny that the fuel station recommendation prompt that comes most days is out of the way to save a nickel. Pay a driver $67/hr to take a detour on the way back to the center because they found a station that's 5¢/gal less. That's the UPS math we see all the time.

With UPS dropping package density and spreading buildings out, it's not just much more fuel, it's more driver time per package. I hope they think there's plenty of premium packages to deliver.

Its expensive to have fuel pumps

How do you figure? We fuel on road in most cases. I guess some centers have unleaded fuel pumps. My center still has a diesel pump that we only have a handful of old diesels left.

Do.the feeders fill up at.your building?

My building had fuel pumps and every building I went to in Florida during my 9 or so years in feeders had their own gas/diesel pumps. Only one I don't remember having pumps was the Hollywood building and that was small. Pretty sure it's gone now.

We had pumps and when one of the tanks started leaking they had to dig a big hole and make a token attempt the recover the gas. EPA made them do it. That pit was open for months.

Incase closed for almost a year.

27 additional?

Hadn’t heard anything about that. I wonder if they’re talking about the ones they already had planned to close this year which we already knew about which was pretty close to that number. But who knows anymore?

"And moving to our fixed cost bucket, we completed the closure of 23 buildings during the first quarter. We are planning to close an additional 27 buildings this year, most of which will be closed in the second quarter."
