Vacation Payout After Retirement

My last workday at UPS was 11/26/25 (day before Thanksgiving). My final check was dated 12/5 and direct deposited into my checking account as all my checks have been. According to the UPS website, there was a separate check dated 12/6/25 (a Saturday?) for my vacation pay. This check never hit my bank account so I assume it was a live check. I stopped at the center but they only had the paystub for the 12/5 direct deposited check. Anyone else had experience with this? If they do in fact mail the vacation pay, how long does it normally take to receive it? Thanks for any help!

Mine was a live check. I picked it up a couple weeks after I retired.

This is a good question

Thank you! I will wait until the end of this week and see if it arrives.

All my checks were direct deposit.
Actually, I got more of them then I thought I was going to.

I've always had direct deposit and cannot understand why they would make my final vacation check a "live" check. It was not direct deposited into my bank account (UPSers shows a check date of 12/6) although my last check for days worked (UPSers shows a check date of 12/5) was direct deposited. Go figure!

Checks issued that were not on the normal vacation schedule timeline are usually 'live" checks.
It's an accounting thing.

**UPDATE** Received the live check in the mail today at my home address. The check was dated 12/6/2025 but it was postmarked 12/10/25. Just thankful it arrived today (12/17/25)!
