Iran is a dead man walking.

I see no boots on the ground. Iran is doomed. This isn’t a video game or a Hollywood movie. Iran had to be dealt with. What would you have done? Allow them to make a nuclear weapon? Then what? Use it on Israel? Oh, that wouldn’t cause a problem for the world. Stop being naive.

That's the hope. But that's all it is so far.

Has Iran been dealt with? Are they any further away from a nuclear weapon than they were in February?

Uh, yeah

They’re possibly currently further away. Hard to say 100%. Although they may be more resolved now to gain nuclear arms more than ever.. I think the lesson this teaches nations is whether they’re good or bad is that if you have the same weapons as the big boys, they leave you alone.

Although, regardless, even the strongest Trump supporter cannot possibly disagree that this has not gone remotely the way the administration thought.

I’ve been quite clear in my desire for Trump to win this. The problem is the mission has changed so many times when the mission should only have ever been regime change.

If there’s not regime change, we will just be discussing this again in another 10 years or less.

Why has the mission changed so many times if we're winning?

Because politicians can define what winning is on a sliding scale.

I’ve already told you what my opinion of winning is.

They no longer have the ability to build a bomb. It’s taking longer than people thought because we live in an age of instant gratification. That said, it’s only a matter of time. We didn’t think the Soviets would collapse and suddenly, bang, it happened. I think the end will come from within.

Which is useful when you're losing a war strategically and you won't be able to achieve its original goals.

Right now I'd bet the Trump Administration would be happy to settle for saying we've won if the Strait of Hormuz can return to pre-war traffic flow without Iran charging a tax or fee for passage.

Oh, have we taken out all of their nuclear program stuff that's deep inside their mountains?

Maybe Trump could push it along by giving a "Mr Khamenei, tear down this mountain!" speech near the Iranian border.

Let me throw this out there....when my son did two tours in Syria with the Army Reserves as a Combat engineer. They got a lot of their meat from the locals who they paid to clean and they cooked themselves. He would send me pictures of him cooking(he cooks very well)and all of them eating. Very rarely did they eat the Army food and not because it wasn't good, but what they all(the guys he shared an apartment with) pitched in for and he cooked was better. And yes they were stationed in a building on their base.

I'm sure our navy guys and gals would love to have cookouts with the locals if they weren't on ships and given no port calls.

You do realize that the mission has changed so many times because it's had to be continuously scaled back, right? We're not trying different ways to achieve what we originally wanted to do. At this point we'd just like Iran to pretty please let the Strait of Hormuz go back to how it was before Trump started dropping bombs and demanding UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER.
