Senate Republicans push bill to authorize $400 million for White House ballroom

"A group of Senate Republicans led by Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.) are pushing a bill to fund the construction of a secure 90,000-square-foot ballroom at the White House and say the project is essential to national security after a gunman tried to storm the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday.

Graham and his allies say the cost of this project would be offset by national park user fees and customs fees, and that the bill would authorize the construction of national security-related infrastructure below the ballroom, including an annex for the Secret Service."

Lol politicians have no concept of budgeting or saving, they love to spend our money

I thought no taxpayer money was being used.

I thought no taxpayer money was being used.

Lindsey graham heard BALLroom and had to do whatever it takes to make it happen

Sounds like someone might've lied about that. 🤔

Perhaps

There’s got to be some middle ground between this and a $400 million ballroom

It’s kind of silly though, they can still have events at the White House now, and the White House grounds are some of the most secure in America, ball room or not.

But it’s like mass shootings happen all over in America, but these politicians have top of the line security, secret service mapping out areas with snipers and machine guns, but since one crazy guy ran past and didn’t shoot anyone we’re supposed to bend over backwards and pay $400 million dollars so they can have their fancy dinners in peace?

Because the crazy left is ultra violent. We need more secure venues. The better to catch or kill them.

Interesting notion.

Once the ballroom is up and running , many people who normally go to these events will suddenly find themselves not invited. Denying them access to the WH Grounds will now be a security issue. Not following the party line = no invite, The sitting president didn't like the last joke you told = no invite.

He’s gay, not only will he be fine, he’ll be in demand. 🤣
