That was about how long my old one lasted. When I put in the new one I also added screw fittings to make it easier to replace the next time. The old one was soldered in.

Thats what we did last time.

This time around Im just gonna pay someone.

That is about what it would have cost me. To have $400 heater installed.


It's really not that hard to solder copper pipe. I bought a kit from Lowes for $70 that had everything to solder when I put mine in. And used it a few years later when I ripped a spigot off the side of the house while mowing the grass.

Not hard but also not one of my favorite things. My house has mostly copper pipes so I have had the equipment to work on it for a long time. Newer screwed fittings are way way easier.
