I started moving some from growth to annuities several years ago
The rates are still pretty good right now.
But one of them i won't touch for a year because the first year interest rate for the first year is 9.55%

I'm going to stay in growth until it hits an amount I like , then switch it all into Bonds. And start taking my RMDs from the interest.
I have been moving some from my IRA to my normal investment account every year to spread out the tax hit and to get a jump on things before I am forced to by RMDs. Also moving some into tax exempt and tax managed funds.

Thats a smart move.
Especially the next fee years with this lower income tax rates we currently have.
Would you go so far as to say you have a plan?
The plan is in motion. Ive been working on this for a few years.
I have no plan.... Have no idea what you guys are talking about with that money stuff...Pretty sure I'll have to move in with @gumby when my money runs out a month after I retire.
You better make a plan!!

Do you have a ROTH IRA?

I didn't plan until kind of late. I just put money into my UPS 401k and didn't think about it any more. I did have some investments too but I hardly ever looked at them.
Ok.But on a side note, I'm "making" the most money in my life these days.
And it's all from my pension and SS, double what I earned at UPS.
With my pensions and SS.... Iโm collecting more than when I was working.

When you have the ability to retire like that who would keep working?
Other than @gumby

I knew my pension, especially with the cost of survivorship wouldn't give me enough money to live the eay I want to.

Funny thing is, I would have gone another year.... but my body couldnโt take it.
And UPS was just getting so stupid.
