What the company ultimately wants is every 0300 driver, gone. There will never be another 0300 RPCD driver hired again. Everyone after August 2019 is a 0323 flex driver, the company wants the flexibility to move people to the weekends and back as necessary with 10 days notice.

Oh really!? Shit.. Nvm them. Sheesh.

I'll tell you what... I wouldn't be upset if I came to work on Tuesday and saw certain supervisors weren't employed anymore.

There will be a purge but they already cut a lot of the management dead weight. How much more fat is left to cut?

Damn that's true. I didn't even realize that nobody is becoming 0300 anymore...

There is a lot of management to cut. For every 3 people that actually move boxes there is 1 manager. All the bloat is in middle management.

The operations buy out caught most by surprise, especially as generous as it. Gonna be some 20-year-old on road supervisor and 25-year-old Center Manager’s in a couple weeks where I am lol

Many of the New drivers don’t even realize they’re not 0300. It was a neat trick the company slipped by in the last contract.

Who also never spent any time as a driver themselves.

Yeah but they're red circled at like $30 something so they don't even care. When I started as 22.4 it was like $20 an hour.

The pay is the same. It’s the flexibility. It gives management to move people schedule with 10 days notice. We just started doing that here and some of the younger drivers who hadn’t worked Saturdays in a while. We’re pissed we’re getting moved back. They kept telling me, but I’m a regular package car driver O300 I said, unfortunately you’re not your a flex driver. Forever.

UPS always tries to get rid of red circled if they can. They can't be fired but you can count on harassment until they quit.

@mechlift was right they’ll never be a real RPCD!!

Didn't there used to be a path for those flex to move on to become regular drivers?

Those are reg temps it's a different thing

The way they did it was totally moronic. Trying to pressure drivers to decide quickly without letting them know the details.

They gave us 13 days and wanted us gone last Friday

Yes, back when there was still a 22.4 after that was gone there is no path.

eventually, once all the regular 0300 drivers are gone they’ll be enough flex drivers at the very top seniority probably wouldn’t get moved very often or ever.

Until 2028*

Possibly. I don’t see the company giving that up very easy this time.

Im a 0299. LoL

Right but what @thebrownblob said is right. There's no path to 0300 RPCD anymore we got lucky bruh. Got in at the last second.

Even more interesting is everyone wanted to be a regular package car driver and now when they get laid off and work in the building they get hub rate instead of their 22.4 which would’ve been more So essentially the 22.4 got the drivers pay and nothing else. No guaranteed weekends off and a big pay cut if they get laid off.
