I retired from General Motors in '99. In 2012, they went bankrupt and they took my pension away from me. The thing that hurt me the most was when my wife was really sick and when they took the pension, they also took the healthcare coverage and all but $10,000 of my life insurance.
I wonder if he knows the VA or the VFW or Am. Legion might be able to help him. You would be surprised to know how many older vets were never informed of all that they qualified for. Now days when you get out of the military they take you by the hand and lead you right down to the Veterans Service Office and sign you up for everything.
