Ove been working on a retirement budget but it's hard to make a budget when everything keeps going up and up and up Utilities, ,insurance and taxes
And food isn't getting any cheaper
That’s my only worry. I clear plenty a month now with no problems and have stayed out of my investments. It’s the rate of inflation people don’t plan for. Taxes, food, and utilities are ridiculous.

Retirees got screwed on health insurance several years ago. What were were promised went away and our costs skyrocketed. If the union cared we should have been grandfathered in but they don't care about retirees (as you will find out some day). You cease to exist in their eyes after you stop paying dues or voting for union officers.

I make more from my investments than from my pension but haven't needed to tap that money yet.

If only the government could provide some sort of affordable healthcare…..

This. I’m on an Aetna Advantage plan, I get screwed on my $2000 deductible for drugs this time of the year. I take Mounjaro and had to pay $726 last week for that. My monthly Medicare fee went up about $40 this year. If I go to a specialist my co-pay went from $40 to $55. UPS and the Teamsters don’t give a shit about you once you retire.

I don’t think the Teamsters don’t care. Healthcare costs are a ridiculous issue nationwide, your co pay still beats the alternative IMo.

I have had to change Advantage plans every year. I had Humana but my doctor became out of network so I switched to Medical Mutual. They were good but quit offering my plan and they ones they had available weren't as good. I ended up switching back to Humana and changed doctors.
I don't need the doctor for much more than periodic checkups and he only has me on BP and cholesterol meds. Those drugs only cost about 3 cents a pill.
There are so many Advantage plans it is a real headache figuring out which one is best for you.

Teamcare tried to screw me out of $93,000 in medical bills for my wife, I won on my second appeal on a technicality. I know Teamcare and the IBT are separate organizations, but that left me with a bad taste for both. Retirees are forgotten is my experience.
