The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) announced in April that it would not be enforcing a requirement on truck manufacturers to sell a minimum percentage of electric medium and heavy-duty (MHD) trucks for model years 2025 and 2026. It’s all part of the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) program, which is rolled into the state’s NetZero Emissions by 2050 climate mandate.
That plan is to require most of the trucks sold to be EV.
As everyone, with a brain, knows that winter can be brutal on EVs.
Then throw in the lack of charging infrastructure. and the added costs of purchasing an EV truck ( at least double of a petrol vehicle }.

Massachusetts is copying the same plan that CA has.
Only difference is that in CA, the onshore winds blow into a mountain range, trapping the emissions.
While Massachusetts off shore winds blow everything out into the Atlantic Ocean.
Thus removing the emissions from the land.
One solution for two very different issues is not going to work.

They need to solve the real problems

Morons, calling for a medic? Seriously?? These people are delusional.

Code 05. Beer time

Code 05. Beer time

sheeted everything emergency condition?

W

So true. Our favorite restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Sorry but that is plainly wrong.
Many retirees are still on the Teamster Care Plans ( members only ) and all those who are collecting a Union Pension are still considered members.
This will be my 49th year as a Teamster.

Well in my world other than the pension(which I earned) and healthcare(which I pay for)they do nothing for me and right after I retired and had a pension issue they wouldn't help(and our Local President was on the pension board). I had to rely on my last manager to straighten it out and he had absolutely no obligation to, but did. So I'm glad they are doing wonders for you. The grass isn't always green everywhere.

U did good

That's you and your man.

Just put some ice on it, it will feels so much better.
It's not like they don't have anything cold nearby to apply.

She's going to be the next poster child for this mess.
How quickly will her Go Fund Me page hit a million ?

A good bit of it.

You still considered a Teamster but not an active member which makes you a non entity.

Not as quick as she will be blaming Trump.

Interesting note-- I was out on disability prior to retiring.
The money I collected was more than all the dues I paid into the Union.
So it looks like I came out ahead after all.

I don't know what it makes me, but I do know other than pension and healthcare(which we all get) they never really did much for me, couple comp issues over the years......oh boy can't help you....couple grievances for whatever......ghosted. Just glad I never got fired.

They didn't do much for me just that was mostly because the company respected the power of the union so didn't try to play games very often. When I did have an issue most of the time the steward was a company kiss ass who was less than useless though.

Also the union was of absolutely no help when I had issues when I retired. The people at the local couldn't seem to understand the differences between UPS and other Teamsters and the BA was a total piece of shit. According to him I was the first person ever to have problems and he would do nothing to help.

I understand some people don’t have great local representation. But pretty much everything we have was negotiated and enforced by our union. I definitely would never say they’ve done nothing for me.

Being that I’ve represented people for quite some time 90% of the time I have to represent 10% of the people the most. (yes the dumbasses. At least a great deal of them lol)
when people who don’t normally file, give me a grievance, I try to make sure and give them the best representation possible and update them.

But you have to admit it gets old defending the same stupid people all of the time.
Anyone can fuck up but some people are just fuckups
