As a decades long boat owner my thoughts are ( 1 ) use the KISS method and ( 2 ) understand your needs , not just your wants when owning a boat.
Years ago , I had a co-worker who came into some money after the death of a family member.
He had big plans to get a boat. I sat down with him and explained reality to him.
The costs to store the boat during the other 9 months of the year when he couldn't use it.
After that talk , he became a windsurfer.
