Meh.
Before I was a BA.. I was an elected Trustee of my Local. I scoured the books every month before signing off. Didn’t want to go to jail over stupid shit.
This is infuriating....

Lol, it's the union. I get it, they want their cut.I'm good with that, just let us know whats going on.
They already have let you know. They filed a grievance because the company violated the contract. The company knows that and it’s up to them to deal with the union directly.
They don’t really want A cut of what you’re getting. They want guarantees just like any contractual item that has to be negotiated
Currently, there’s no guarantees of anything. No guarantees they will go by seniority.. no guarantees they’ll bring laid off people back or not lay off more in the future. No guarantees that the people that even signed into this contract with the company may not have to repay it if something goes wrong, contractually or legally.
And it still cannot be lost that almost everyone who is high seniority, especially for the Feeder drivers could work to the end of the year and make very close to and in some cases more than $150,000. Receive another year of service credit or pension credit that might bolster there pension amount, depending on their fund.. as well as received their full bank of entitlements for vacations and personal days walking out the door.
All of this because of the Union negotiating guarantees for us. Seems we’re selling ourselves short and receiving nothing in return for those left behind.
Thats what my BA thinks.
No official word yet.
Get ready for that check. If not, expect plan B which is worse for the lower seniority guys. The central guys would have wished they didn't fight the buyouts.
Nobody will try and fuck you like UPS.
Yep, certainly I would hope no one here believes that these bastards are out of the goodness of their heart. They have a plan and it’s not to the membership’s benefit.
If it were, they would be openly dealing with us instead of doing this secret

The company should have negotiated this in the first place.
