Looks healthy....

Now that I retired, Christmas has become enjoyable once again. I used to despise Peak Season as a driver due to the stress and long hours when I was a newer driver. Eventually I learned to not stress out over things beyond my control. Bad loads because of constant new Preloaders, late air, getting out of the building late, weather, and stuff like that. I finally came to realize there wasn't any sense in worrying about things I had no control over. I took the attitude that I was going to go out and make more money to fix poor planning and mistakes made by management. instead of throwing up a Christmas Tree a week before and let my family decorate, we usually have it done by now. I don't miss Christmas parties and family gatherings due to working late or just being worn out. Life will get better when you leave that place, I promise you that.

The first Christmas not working felt so weird

It’s cold here too…….62 degrees had to break out the long sleeve shirt and long pants.

Nobody fucking cares

Exactly the same. I dreaded Christmas. It took me about 5 years before I finally didn’t give a fuck anymore.

Working at 3 ugh

I’m having my first enjoyable day the Friday after thanksgiving in 31 years. I’m thinking rest of peak as well!!

It only gets better

Don't you live in the Villages ....

Nope, The Villages are in Central Florida. I live in a Del Webb "55 active" community about 35 miles South of downtown Atlanta. We looked at retiring to Florida, decided against alligators, bugs, and high temps most of the year. Moving here was about the smartest thing I have ever done.
