I remember the first time we got one of those "NEW" P-1000"s. The rookies were all fighting over who got to drive it not realizing that all it meant was MORE packages.
One of the first things I noticed when I started my Hub Rat days. The old package drivers mostly drove those old P400s on country and residential routes. The younger drivers drove the old P800s and Ford overcab straight trucks. So when I went driving finally, my goal was to drive the smallest package car I could get. They simple held less packages. Drive more miles with lots of windshield time. I got pissed when they took my P-500 away and forced me into a P-700.
And FU Gumby, get back to work as I enjoy missing Peak Season for the sixth time.
