I think the union is almost as much to blame as the company.
Their worker protections basically turned out to be penalty pay the company can pay out to avoid having to follow any of the rules.
- The 9.5 language has continuously undergoing improvements and changes since its beginnings. It certainly has more teeth now than it ever has. But I don’t believe the company will ever agree to allow us to just not get the work done.
we didn’t make the penalty big enough (although originally I thought quad pay would be an astronomical amount for them to pay, but they paid it without blinking lol) - Without some sort of strong language about hiring and keeping new drivers the 9.5 language will never get drivers off the clock in 9 1/2 hours or less.

I believe for some people, the hammer will come down in the form of some layoffs. For the rest of the people, the hammer will be in the form of extreme hours because of route cuts.
Carol has already displayed that her plan is to work you into the ground until you relent and just give up. Rinse and repeat every four years if she can.

Theres so much red tape nobody actually sees how much money is getting pissed away just to avoid hiring a new driver.
