Had it happen in my building...guy with his grandson cut in front of a guy returning to the building....killed grandpa and grandson......driver was out for close to two years on comp from PTSD.

I knew a guy it happened to and while he got his job back he couldn't stay around much longer. PTSD over something like that is real.
We had a pkg driver and feeder driver.... that both had head-on collisions.
Pkg driver had someone cross the center line out in the country. Diesel 8-cube. Killed them.
Feeder driver had some 18yr old commit suicide on a 2 lane road in the country. 55 mph +
Neither one was discharged. Or, lost a day of pay.

Sorry you died, I drive like a professional, you don’t. I got mouths to feed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s tragic when someone dies, but if I’m not responsible, then I gotta protect mine. I’m not saying it wouldn’t weigh on me, but I have responsibilities beyond my own feelings. Different era.
