When you’re done at noon, they’re gonna need you to help others
Corner Irish Bar
We gotta get the main UPS section poppin. @gumbysmom was harsh but correct. This site is basically just a corner bar for bullshitting. It will only gain traction if we start actually posting and discussing UPS topics.
We talk about UPS all day, we live it. We drink it. We breathe it. Not necessarily because we want to, but because of we’re stuck in the seat of that truck. It’s a great living, not complaining. And I don’t mind talking about it sometimes in a serious manner. Sometimes we need to to decompress a little.
When I come here, I’d rather get a chuckle and bust some balls with a bunch of UPS employees and retired UPS employees who understand what the job entails and how that affects your outlook on life.
Reddit is a good example of too much serious talk about UPS. It’s mostly unhelpful information, many times wrong information and people with agendas arguing about things they have very little idea about.
The corner bar will always outperform 10x.
I agree we need more UPS topics, but as forums go in 2026, we are looking REALLY healthy for growth.
Wow
And
WDFD
Because I'm an alcoholic. Every relationship I've ever been in has ended because of my alcoholism.
Same with @kog

I started going to BC because of the lack of useful information from both UPS and the union. Reddit was never a serious option.

On the old Brown café the serious topics about UPS very often had use useful information because it was more of a community or people got to know other posters.
That’s never gonna happen on Reddit. It’s too anonymous.

When I stumbled on BrownCafe is when I started working as a BA.
Thought it might be a good source of info and could touch base with other parts of the country.
Found out.... most of those people didn't know shit. About anything.

Which shockingly is much like everywhere at ups. I got 20 and 30 year employees that don’t know Jack about their own contract. 😂🤷♂️

On BC you could get good answers for the first page or two before the thread got derailed. And questions that had already been asked and answered hundreds of times would get off track in the first few posts. We won't talk about Current Events that was mostly spamming by trolls.

It's even funnier when they ask directions to the Union Hall. Never been there.

Where do we buy UPS socks?

That's no joke.
That's no joke.
A lot of how things work in the real world aren't really spelled out in the contract.
Past practice.
