For “most” young people especially those with young families when they look around and see what’s available even if they took that buyout, they will realize very quickly if they have in common sense, but there is really very little out there.

And definitely very little worth fighting for what we have.We don’t just have jobs. We have a way of life.. passed down through many years.


They dont realize what we have. Most places don't pay these kind of wages and benefits.

Every generation has to have that moment when they become men and women and not boys and girls…..

Now we've got guys working 13 hours a day while the day off list spins.
The union can't stop it.

9.5 grievances? These guys don't want more money.
They want to see their kids.

It's never been a 9-5 job.
But how many months can these guys work 60 hours a week before they do dumb stuff trying to cut corners and go home, and then end up fired?

The union negotiated rules to try to protect their members, and from an objective standpoint, they're failing miserably.


I respect how hard you work, and believe you will do good things for the union.
But they're losing hard right now.

There's a lot of dues payers, but not many teamsters.

That's what I don't think the union gets.
Those idiot part timers who never vote are drivers now.

And they're still idiots.

Yes, certainly it’s not going exactly the plan. But if you go back and look at this language, it’s changed every contract to try and combat what UPS is doing.

This will be no difference in the next contract.

I guarantee no one was upset about 4X being offered during contract negotiations
Although many of us thought we would never receive it because the company would be unwilling to pay. Well, they were so it’s time to go back to the drawing board.

unfortunately, members doing dumb stuff has always been an issue. That’s why most people don’t have what it takes to make it to the finish line without getting terminated. This is never been different.

I can promise you if you continue to do the job that way you’re supposed to you’re not gonna lose your job or something like that.

And by way of life, I mean when you tell your wife “goodbye” for the day that means I have no idea what time I will be home and both of you understand that that includes sacrifices because you’re going to make a living and have security like most people don’t have.

Again, if it’s worth it to the next generation, they will fight for it if it’s not then so be it.

The people at the Teamsters International headquarters cannot fight every battle for us. Sometimes there comes a time when we have to put our foot down.

My CM is afraid too many people are going to take the buyout and he is going to be stuck with all the newbies.
