I'm thinking of redoing my lawn with ProVista Saint Augustine. It's a new type. Thrives in the heat, slow growing for less mowing, needs about 1" of water per week. What's good is it bred to be glyphosate-tolerant. You can nuke it with generic glyphosate herbicide which will kill everything, bermuda, torpedo grass, and every weed out there!

It laughs at Roundup?
Does look like some shady ass construction.

I'm no carpenter, but it doesn't look right for sure.

Kind of looks like they screwed up their measurements so had to use a shitload of shims

The stringer has a order tag stapled to it from 97, I'm going to assume if it's held up for 30 years it's fine and try not to worry about it. Not to mention I've never built a staircase before and I think it would take me a few weekends to put a new one in while learning on the job. It would be pretty inconvenient to not have stairs for weeks.
