You should get some injected into your brain.

No

Curious as to why you would construe it as being a bribe? I’ve worked with many business agents. A few of them have been retired from UPS and some of them have been very close to retirement. Those guys got nothing to lose and aren’t afraid of management. Some of the ones that were newer, that had just went out to the Union hall struggled with labor and management because there’s always a chance they were coming back on car if they were voted out.

Either way they were eligible because they’re still on the seniority list. I don’t see how anyone would consider it a bribe. And if they’re not doing their job, vote them out. They will have no job to go back to.

Well the original offer for the second buyout the fine print said you had to be an active employee to be considered you couldn't be on leave or disability or FMLA yadayada. Then there's a secret negotiation between the international and the company where they come to an agreement nobody has ever seen and all of a sudden BAs are getting bought out. Its not hard to imagine some corrupt agreement that did nothing for the membership such as 'we will let you buy people out so long as you include officers of the union in your pool of candidates'.

I don't think it's like that but you know people talk shit and it's hard to say anything. The BAs that took the buyout here did get $150k from the company for basically nothing. They were never going to return from leave no matter what happened. Is there any economic benefit to clearing those guys off the books? Why would the company give away $150k for free?

It would just be better if they didn't take it cause then the members wouldn't be asking these kind of questions.

Not looking good. My Mother in law has been in the hospital for a couple of days she has Sepsis and is on life support. Prayers would be appreciated.

I am sorry to hear that brother. Your family is in my thoughts today.

Liberty Mutual ?

I'm with Allstate now, I just paid $1446 for a 2015 Mercedes C-300 and my son's 2016 Nissan Altima. Allstate is going to jack me up another $35 a month for a 2021 Mercedes E -350 I'm about to pick up. As much as I despise Liberty Mutual for the way UPS treated me with workman's comp, they did give me the best quote so far at $1200 for six months. I saw something about one company giving Teamsters and Retirees a discount, it wasn't LM. Car insurance is high as hell in Georgia because of all the non-insured (illegals) driving around with no insurance or drivers licenses. Back when my wife was driving, she got hit three times by illegals just in the Walmart parking lot. I have a thousand dollar deductible so I still had to pay up. I'm car loan shopping now, Carmax is financing at 5.64% and I'm waiting on a quote from my bank and Delta Community Credit Union.

The problem with LM is they will likely deny any claim. Seems to be their MO.

Also one of my friends brother owned a body shop and he said dealing with Allstate is a nightmare.

I had Allstate a long time ago and they do promptly pay claims .. if you go to one of their authorized repair shops (kickbacks). I needed to have my car repaired after someone hit it and I had to keep taking it back to have them fix it right. I complained to Allstate and their attitude was did they fix the problem? but didn't care about the shoddy work and that I had to keep taking my car back.

She didn't make it.

Ya, I said that was dirty too.

But they said these Union management people were still on the seniority list, so they were eligible.

Is that what @burrheadd tells you during your bj sessions?

You’ve got a smart mouth for somebody without a job

The agreement between UPS and the Teamsters has to my knowledge, never been seen by anyone including business agents and local union officers lol. Pretty crazy.

And I can promise you the first buyout offer as well as the second buyout offer. We offered to every employee on UPS seniority list, including business agents. There was never any deal made to include them. They were included from the very beginning by UPS. All of them received those offers in the mail just like every other employee.

And yes, I totally understand the way people feel it doesn’t make it true but yes, I do understand it.
