Because contrary too, the things like @wally and some others say we have layoff language that the company doesn’t really want to deal with anymore than they have to. These people don’t lose their jobs. Their jobs become certainly more inconvenient. But they have rights.

It still makes me chuckle when I hear there’s gonna be “mass layoffs” OK and? There’s always been layoffs throughout the history of the company.

The fact that they want to offer money, just proves how strong our contract is.

Another reality is that many of the people that were hired around Covid times were honestly extra because of Covid type volume, and that volume is gone from almost every company that ships.

Other companies can lay them off or terminate them. UPS cannot without going through grievance procedure or a contractual layoff language that gives those members quite a few rights.
