First route I covered after I gained seniority was a 30+ year drivers that was tough as nails drove a P 1000 hi stepper no power steering. That route went out every day 350 packages 110-120 stops. And about 30 pick ups and you would fill that P 1000 about 500 packages. I wanted to quit lol
Oh yeah, and this was Pre EDD They threw me the keys and said hey one stop at a time lol. Had to manually enter every stop in your Diad

UPS ain’t never sent anyone out with 100 pieces lol I’ve been here at the end of the old school and the beginning of the new school of driver. So I’ve got to see both. The job has never been easy. But in my opinion, it was harder when I had a high step truck, no power steering, no key fob no GPS which I don’t use anyway, and definitely no stupid Orion. That’s not to say this job isn’t still difficult. It’s always been a grind. And our management always make sure to make it more difficult than necessary.
I went out with 77 biscuits, barely made 9.5

My first bid route was an industrial route with massive pickups. Had it for 3 years. Just because you CAN do it doesn't mean you should. I'm using my seniority. Got off that route and out of that center as soon as I could.
I'm not getting younger. I'm 36 not 26. I'm nit here for a dick measuring contest. I want the easiest day possible minimizing the wear and tear on my body. I'm very fortunate to have no injuries in my career and to be able to wake up every day with minimal pain. I hate the drivers that say "I used to do 200 on that route no problem " like okay... Good for you motherfucker.

36 with 7 yrs seniority. Do it at 55 and up like some of us had to or are doing it now. I didn’t DoorDash all the time so at 55 and 11 months I said c-ya. Could have done it a few years earlier, are you going to be able to?
