This has been my cautionary tale all along for these people who think we’re going to get some sort of UBI. When we become unnecessary, we become disposal.
This one is the problem.
The Pentagon wants Anthropics safe guards removed for it.
Effectively for automated weapons and domestic surveillance. Both of which are against Anthropic's ToS, and that they have said they are unwilling to do.
If they do not comply they will lose their 200 million dollar contract, potentially be forced to comply anyway because of a 1950s law, and risk being labeled a "supply chain risk", which would blacklist them from government contracts.
