Will be drivers working 2 pt shifts for a long time and those left working tons of overtime.

Lotta rules.

If UPS is giving guys 12s while laying drivers off, there'll be grievances won.

Just business. Way cheaper to pay grievances than having extra employees on the books.

The company has demonstrated the last 10 years or so that its cheaper to pay 9.5 grievances than to hire
people.
The company will look at any costs from the grievances over some laid off whilst other work 12-13 hours days as the cheaper alternative

My building has an ungodly amount of management. It's overkill.

Nothing more sweaty than a part-time sup doing union work. Management is not insurance for under staffing.

Definitely Something the union needs to crack down on if they layoff union workers.

It’s really up to the members to file. Business agents can’t do much if he doesn’t have a grievance.

Those not laid off are too busy working to see suit monkeys working.

Lol no it’s the members job to file. Union leader leadership cannot be at every building in every location all the time.

Once those grievances are filed, then it’s up to the leadership to hold management feet to the fire. If they’re not filed, they can do nothing.

Too many times I hear members say they don’t want a target on their back or they like the help, pretty ridiculous when your religion sisters might be laid off and you’re allowing the company to violate a contract. They also signed and agreed to. Man up or woman up.

We do a pretty good job of that here.

They care a lot more about the quad time than the triple time. I guess at 180/hr it's cheaper to put another driver on the road but at 135/hr it's not.

UPS said it expects $3 billion in total savings from unwinding its business with Amazon.

No they're not. They're getting that from laying people off, but that sounds so mean.

Corporate decided that they can improve by making more doing less. Automation and less drivers on the road will mean less teamsters. Nothing the union can do to stop that.

Will that plan work? We better hope so for the remaining teamsters.

Mich of this is from over hiring during Covid.

Retire today so you get something. Anyone with more than 5 years to go ain't gonna get shit. Won't be enough contributing.

We will take back the donations made to the central.

We've already lost 1 at state and have 2 more headed there. Company has no reason to let infractions slide anymore.

Yes, and no. There is a sitting arbitrator now, so the company has already laid the money out for this so they will tend to take things further than they used to since it’s already money spent.

I don’t believe, however, they are winning more than they were before. Especially now that a lot of business agents have begun to figure out how to deal with arbitrators.

I will say arbitrators see things, black, and white very much at the time so if you have a mercy case you’re probably not getting any of that.
