Why does the union allow it to get that far every time instead of demanding more guarantees for the future?

If the company cannot be trusted to honor that language, there needed to be FAR more teeth on that language, or we NEEDED to strike.

If you look at labor around this country or even around the world, you’ll see that we are actually fighting against thieves and liars.

The difference here is the Union goes into A contract with mostly goodwill And assuming the company is going to abide by the terms that they agreed with.

The fact is, there’s not enough money in unions coffers to hire enough lawyers to write language to account for every dirty trick and decision The company makes.

It’s tough to account for a negotiating partner, who is looking to break or at least obfuscate the contract as soon as they sign before the ink is dried.
