My last day was on a Wednesday in the middle of October. The time was about to change and they were going to load me up with more stops and put a Helper on me the next week. It was a perfect time to me.
Lol, THEY pick the date. I think its crazy they had one guy go April 26, and 7 of us on Sept 26. Right before Peak, lose 7 men. Makes no sense at all to me.They should have let one go every 4 weeks. That 7 guy loss on one day is gonna hurt!
That way they can use seasonals.

But if you're born on the 1st or 2nd, your first check is that month, not the following month. I think thats what it means...

Birthday month shouldn't matter I think. It is the month you choose to start taking benefits which are always a month behind.
I would trust what SSA says more than AARP if there is any doubt.

Yup, I'm sure it will say in the application. I'll do that this weekend.

The application asks for a ton of probably unnecessary questions. Especially if you were already taking Medicare but waited longer for social security.
I just started the process in April to start benefits in July and just got first payment this week.
