From what I heard from our senior guys, our Pension is about 120 per year of service, so to make 1,600 in monthly benefits, would be like 15 years for me :(
This was way before my time but I'm told during the market crash in 08 the local decreased the pension payout for retirees then when the market recovered and the fund was doing better they back paid the difference to everyone. I guess most places didn't do it that way and that's why our fund is so strong now.

BOLO for the statement in the mail, I assume everywhere sends a statement like mine every year? Or call the hall? Might want to call the benefit office anyways and ask if being laid off and bumping inside affects him accruing credits - how many hours or punches does he need, etc.

Nope, not everywhere. Send them automatically nice that yours does we have to request ours. It’s always a good idea to send away and make sure everything is correct every few years if you don’t get them sent automatically.

There are a lot of confidently incorrect guys working at UPS that have never read a page of their contract book and are very comfortable giving advice.

We get one every year but the number is for age 65
If you want to know your exact number you send them an email and they will send you an exact amount that you would get now.

I don't know how it works where you are, you need to ask your steward, your BA, someone at the benefit office at your hall.... If you ask 5 of your buster brown coworkers you are likely to receive 5 different answers.

It is. If I stopped working today I could collect 1600 a month when I reach retirement age. If I started collecting tomorrow I would get next to nothing.
