Is UPS truly going to deliver less Amazon or is it a way for them to squeeze more money from Amazon?

Then I ordered something from Backcountry.com and a doordash driver delivered it.
Both of those would have been in a UPS or FedEx truck just a few years ago.

I rarely order anything but I did order 2 packages from Amazon last month. One came by the post office and the other by UPS

Supposedly, we started this week with a real glide down. By the middle of next month, we should be delivering almost no Amazon here. I guess we shall see.

Guess they wanted some good revenue before the end of the quarter
I thought we'd see much less Amazon by now but we still deliver a ton of it out my center. Even though we have a huge Amazon fulfillment center in my centers coverage area and I pass 50 Amazon trucks a day. I'm still trying to figure out why multiple trucks cover the same streets, same addresses multiple times a day. Seems incredibly inefficient. I get 2 different Amazon drivers at my house most days.

True but it doesn't explain several trucks covering the same streets everyday. Regardless of how cheap the drivers are, they are all in these really expensive electric Rivian vans. Amazon is all about superior software and logistics and efficiency. My area doesn't have that order something and receive it today feature. Everything is next day/2 day with Prime. So why would 2 trucks have to come to my house same day? I'm not in a city either, so it takes time to get to.

I still say getting rid of Amazon is mostly for optics both for the upcoming contract negotiations and to try and force Amazon to give us more money to deliver their stuff. Amazon has already begin to struggle with delivery drivers in my area.

Observing their delivery patterns, they are most certainly adhering to a lousy software solution. It appears they may have less control than us in not following it. I deliver along a coastal area with many peninsula roads. One way in, one way out and they are always crossing the street when they are coming back and could avoid crossing as we seasoned drivers do. Seems that they may not have the ability to easily scroll ahead or skip stops for later.
