Did you push it real good?

Did you push it real good?

I mean. It is my day off...

Everybody is on layoff, but no one is signing a petition to dismiss her. And Union is staying silent about the petition as well. Great solidarity !

Not quite sure what you are asking. Are they working people with less seniority than you?

74 city feeders below me on the board, everybody was sent a layoff letter. Some are still working, some got lucky bumping the other ones right in our Hub, others, like myself, are inside, loading the fking packages. Another garbage from UPS is how the layoff process works here, it's not seniority based, they just tell you who and at which Hub you can bump only once, then you're stuck with this option, unless the next guys bumps you out of there. And like I said, no one wants to sign the petition, which is hanging on Change.org since January with only 10k votes.

Assuming you are in the union, have you called the hall?

Never heard of a place where seniority does not apply on layoffs. We have grievances all the time over this, and won easily.

What grievances ? There's nothing to win here, they do what they want now. They've been working yard feeders for 14 hrs/day for good 6 months now, while other feeders were on layoff inside the Hub, any grievances worked ?

Violation of seniority grievance. Won all the time, here.

Maybe that is why they are run roughshod over you guys, because nobody files grievances.

Union BA says he has a stockpile of those, but it's been 6 months and nothing has changed. And this is too massive to win over. When they lay you off you're offered 3 options - go inside, hard layoff, or stay feeder and this one is a tricky one. At the moment of your layoff you're only given 1 option of who you gonna bump and at what Hub. So I was offered a 2 am start at the remote Hub, because that was the most junior feeder I was supposed to bump. Of course I've declined and had chosen to go inside of my own Hub for the afternoon start time. Now person a few spots below me on seniority list, was given an option to bump another feeder right in our Hub for 3 pm start time, because this was the only option for him at the moment. I call it TOTAL CRAP ! Now the guys who are below me keep working as feeders at our Hub and I'm loading fkin packages, and there's nothing I can do, because it was "my choice"...

What supplement are you under?

I'm 705, and you cannot find a Supplemental Agreement for 705 on the Teamsters website, it says: the Local has not provided their agreement to the International. Please contact Local 705 for information or with questions. But I spoke with the Stuart, he told me he can look into it, but basically "it was my choice" at the moment when the company was laying me off ))))))))) But like I said, the most BS is that they work feeders for 14 hrs/day, while other feeders are laid off and loading packages inside, and the Union can't do nothing about it for about 6 months now.

And this is why I call 705 "ghetto 710".
At least we have our contract online. This time.

You guys are under your own contract. You and 710 (my local) are the special snowflakes operating outside the national contract doing our own thing.

You need to get a copy of the contract. Your steward should have copies, and if he doesn't, he should be able to get them for you.

That's the only way any of this can get understood. It's 2025, I don't understand why ANY contract for the teamsters isn't online at this point. That's the easiest way to inform members of their rights is to let them find it if they need it.

Nope, the L710 contract is not available either.

A lot of our feeders and stewards were looking into our contract, when this crap started, but it looks like they were not able to find anything that would help the situation. Our feeders who are still Temps, were scheduled to work for only 1-3 days a week, so I personally know the guy who was just sitting at home an reading over the Agreement, because he had so much time.

You don't sound like you have any idea what you are talking about?

...."looking into"

Let us know what you figure out.

Nope, the L710 contract is not available either.

Why not submit it to the IBT?
