Get rid of bonus and the company may have to hire a few more drivers. Hard to do all those pickups when you actually take a full lunch, no sorting off the clock.
You would think that, but we definitely still have guys that try… Lol.
I ran bonus on my route twice, and both times was because I covered pickups for other routes.
The old guy who was before me was 2+ hours over every day.
The numbers were a joke.
My last few years in package I watched it slowly disappear on my route. I could run .50 under taking my lunch because of how tight the stops were. I watched that slowly disappear to where I was running an hour over a day and absolutely nothing changed on the route.
We have five drivers currently laid off, at least 10 routes are going out with the over 10 hour planned day, clearly states in our contract that’s a violation, union steward doesn’t seem to care, I talked to the young guys to file a grievance, but they said they don’t wanna rock the boat. I’m not really sure if I file the grievance it will accomplish anything.

You will be paid triple time (and eventually quad-time), so there's that?
