How will all that effect those left behind, or is it a "hey, I got mine on
the way out the door, so screw those behind me"?
Your elected officials don't have the luxury of turning that blind eye and are actually duty bound to guard against direct dealing and contractual violations.

I highly doubt it would affect the pension fund most who are taking it have one foot out the door anyway. Those that are taking it that don’t have time in don’t get a pension for years.

Pretty sure you meant Our contracts are not up for being violated at the will of the company. They can come to the table and negotiate as they’re supposed to.
