Buyout

Any rumblings of talks between union and company to reinstate the buyout? Didn't 705/710 come to an agreement with the company?

Too soon to tell for this particular issue, I would expect to hear more about it in the next few days.

Let's just let UPS negotiate with individual employees and totally disregard the Union going forward.

What's the worst that can happen?
Did anyone take notice of this line in the "extra contractual" proposal by the Company?

You guys need to wake up.

I never opened a contract book once during my 30 year career at UPS, why would I start reading contracts now? Just let the company pay me, big mean union man!

That’s some pretty crazy Indian giving right there!

Did the central not participate in the last buyout?

Did the central not participate in the last buyout?

From the Twitter post you posted…..

“The scope of UPS's latest buyout scheme is much broader than the payoff presented to workers last summer, when UPS marketed payouts to more tenured drivers nearing retirement. The earlier program, which UPS called the Driver Voluntary Separation Program (DVSP), was widely rejected by Teamsters nationwide, many of whom took to social media to shred and set fire to the insulting financial package offered by UPS to leave the company. While recent payoffs dangled in front of workers have been larger, the DVSP and DCP programs are unmistakably similar. Grievances over contract violations inherent in the DVSP program are expected to be heard before an arbitrator in May.”

The union advised all locals to file under national language the first time.

The second time the central filed under their stronger language that doesn’t require an arbitrator. A deadlock decision can be a strike issue.

The union agreed to neither buyout and both cases are still on going.

I would guess the reason the central specifically is being left out has to do with what @bubblehead was saying over in this thread

That's not from the UPS contract Pal,

....that's from the buyout agreement that these people (you?) signed.

I think his reply to you was tongue in cheek.

Yes, and grieved under Article 6 NM, and filed NLRB charges as well.

This time we filed under Article 19, section 10 of the Central Region Supplement.

....and apparently hit paydirt this time.

Why make the same argument twice?

Better to hedge your bets.

Imagine being mad at the union for filing a grievance that the company realized the union had a claim to. Seems like that’s their job.

The same Union that negotiated our industry leading wages

The same Union that negotiated our pension that has become something that fewer and fewer people have.

The same Union that negotiated some of the best healthcare coverage in the country.

And many other things

🤷‍♂️

@1030 is a strong union guy. I’d feel proud to have him or @thebrownblob as my steward

Okay???

I was just pointing out that the language he quoted was not from our CBA, rather the bogus buyout offer.

I like him too and assume he didn't read the verbiage in the screenshot.

Thank you, bro.@bubblehead is a great and knowledgeable union brother as well.
