Seems much more than 7500 were going for the buyout. Very different than what the FB union pages were saying. "Nobody was going for it" they said, lol.
You’re thinking of the first one which indeed very few people took. Even UPS was disappointed in the participation. I never once heard anyone say this 150k “nobody was going for it”. Quite the contrary.
If they got UPS to agree that they can give these jobs at this point that would be a huge win because the company is admitting they can afford to do it. Last I heard they were hemming and hawing saying there wasn’t enough volume.
They tried something similar in 1997 by the year 2000 they had been sued by the Teamsters and we won those jobs
I think of late last year when there was a LOA that said UPS would retrofit 5,000 package cars with air conditioning and I haven't heard about or seen a picture of a retrofitted car yet. I don't see this situation playing out any different but I guess I'm just a cynic.

I've only heard of one. Don't think we have any others.
I have heard of some new cars delivered with a/c and seen some on reddit and stuff but I've never heard of an existing package car being retrofitted with a/c yet
