And this brings up a huge issue, which they HAVE to have anticipated.
What happens if these men win that grievance? Do less senior people who have been approved for the buyout now get "bumped" from it? Remember, that clause is still in there, which basically says "If anything fucks this up, we get that 150k back from you".
Or does UPS give grievance winners the buyout, bringing the total closer to the 10,000 UPS wanted in the first place? Except, the union has that number "capped" at 7,500...
Like I told you that clause is null and void whatever the union agreed to is now the new agreement.
Nobody knows if they wanted 10,000 or 6000 or 7000 these are just numbers that are thrown around without any solid knowledge of what the company was originally planning to do. Same as the people who want to tell us it was 30,000.
If a grievance is filed and the claim of the union is upheld the grievant would get paid what they are owed according to the agreement, the company and the union made.
Given the fact, this would most likely happen after the payments are made the company is just on the hook for this because of their mistake if that mistake was truly made.
Are they? What proof do you have of that? Do you know who was going to get this before or who is going to get them after the agreement was made? With all this certainty on your side, we’re gonna need you to hand over that evidence so we can comb through it.I don’t know how you have this information when nobody else I know does but I appreciate your valuable accurate information.
I was unaware that the union was the one giving them out. If there’s a seniority issue a grievance should be filed and it sounds like in certain places that is happening.
If the company isn’t giving very many buyouts in a certain location, according to the agreement, that is acceptable.
As I said, I know of several people who do not want the buyout now I do not know if they can get out of it, but it seems like they should be able to. So will UPS give those to the next person in line?
Or perhaps you’re just being a drama queen as usual?
I understand being disappointed in being denied the buyout but I don't understand the anger towards SOB. UPS seemed pretty upfront that they weren't going to approve everyone.
