“Watching the Biden thing really said something about the necessity for generational change in the party, and I think I want to respect that,” Nadler told the Times.

It’s great when politicians get to this point. But at 78? Now it’s time for generational change?
We need age and term limits. Regardless of the letter in front.
What do y’all think?

I’m conflicted on term limits and would really like to hear people’s opinion on it from both sides

On one hand, it seems more necessary than ever. I’ve seen clips of Feinstein and McConnell, both politicians I wouldn’t call myself fans of, but I don’t even like joking about their condition because it makes me sad. Biden of course too. And it’s scary to think they are “in charge”. They should be resting with their family, and some of the clips I’ve seen I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable with them driving a car let alone being representatives of our country

But then on the other hand, if people keep voting them in, and the people want them, why shouldn’t they be allowed? If the people want Trump for a 3rd term, what is the reason for stopping it?

Age limits seem like a great idea for instances like this, but there’s also instances where people seem just as sharp as ever when they’re 80, and their experience in politics and life in general could be invaluable and they could have perspectives and experiences that their younger counterparts lack, and it doesn’t seem fair to kick them out because they hit a certain age

but that’s why I’d like to hear other opinions, because clearly there were 2 term limits for a reason, and I’ve read before that George Washington was very adamant about stepping down voluntarily and that was considered a monumental decision at the time, so clearly there is more to this in importance than I’m grasping. George Washington made it an unwritten rule to step down, and after Roosevelt we made it official, so it’s clearly regarded as an important part of our country and our morals

if anything though I do think we should have term limits for Supreme Court. I don’t necesarily like the idea of lifetime appointments for judges the people didn’t even vote for, but again there might be a bigger picture of logic that I’m missing on that one as well where it makes sense to do it how it’s done

I think @unionstrong just considered adopting you as a grandson. For just a brief moment.

We’d have so much fun together, we could do some of the things I would have liked to do with my grandpa but never got the chance to

TLDR

The height of his pants was the reverse countdown indicator of when he would finally quit.

Embarrassing that he’s the kind of person people consider a leader in government. He was only in government all those years because he was too pathetic to do anything else. Being a leach is easy.. I wouldn’t let him lead me down the buffet aisle.

Yeah, because there'd be nothing left for you after he went through.
