Trump administration holds Situation Room meeting over House effort to force release of all of DOJ’s Epstein files
"Top Trump administration officials met Wednesday with a key GOP lawmaker about an effort in the US House to force a vote on releasing Justice Department case files related to Jeffrey Epstein, according to multiple sources familiar with the meeting.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt acknowledged the meeting later Wednesday when asked about reporting that administration officials were huddling with GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert.
“Doesn’t that show the level of transparency when we are willing to sit down with members of Congress and address their concerns?” she told reporters at the press briefing.
Leavitt added: “I’m not going to detail conversations that took place in the Situation Room.”
A source familiar confirmed the meeting in the Situation Room included Boebert, who has wanted the Justice Department to release its trove of Epstein files and has signed onto the effort in the House to force the vote compelling their release."
It sounds like Trump is still trying to get the emails released but has been blocked by judges and Congress

I think the court case files were only a subset of the Epstein files in existence. Trump's DOJ probably could've released the complete collection on its own. Don't think their hands are tied from doing so until there's a legislative branch vote to compel their release.

Because contrary to popular opinion. Trump is a New York liberal. And there’s a lot of his friends on that list. I absolutely don’t believe there’s anything other than that and definitely nothing nefarious about him on there. But his donors might be.

Maybe. But "I was lured into it" of course isn't a good defense for someone who was banging kids. A foreign government's involvement in using it for blackmail would probably be a secondary or tertiary concern.

I think it would be a pretty big issue, especially in the current climate for this particular foreign agency.

And regardless, if these files are released completely or not, I can guarantee both sides will claim victory. No one will go to jail. There will be no smoking gun. This has been baked into the cake from the beginning of this.
