I did a little more digging around and from what I can understand
It’s not our money that we’re giving them necessarily I don’t think the New York Times was being completely honest in their description or maybe they just don’t understand the deal yet since it’s preliminary
The way I understood it was it would be their own money contingent on them, letting ships through the straight and giving us for allowing us access to the enriched uranium
My understanding is that the $1.7 billion Obama freed up and has been widely criticized for was actually their money.
Do they have another $300 billion that we'll be freeing up in exchange for them letting ships transit the straight like they could before the war?
I don't think Iran has agreed to anything on the uranium/nuclear front.
