Let me throw this out there....whenthere as I know for fact....when my son did two tours in Syria with the Army Reserves as a Combat engineer. They got a lot of their meat from the locals who they paid to clean and they cooked themselves. He would send me pictures of him cooking(he cooks very well)and all of them eating. Very rarely did they eat the Army food and not because it wasn't good, but what they all(the guys he shared an apartment with) pitched in for and he cooked was better. And yes they were stationed in a building on their base.
