Its almost the same maybe a .01 difference.
Of you leave that money in the brokerage you dont have a minimum amount.
Vanguard has come a long way. Much easier for the small investors to get in. You can even biy a fractional shave of an ETF.
Back in the day you need at least 3k to biy a mutual fund.
Now you can biy a fractional share if you wish. The market has went up so much that one share of the VOO is over $700
Im very happy with my Vanguard account.
I can biut whatever I want with noo sales charges.
I diversified my S&P a little bit with 2 other ETFs
Investors RSP an equal weight fund. Every stock is only .20 of the S&P
But its a little more expensive. .20 instead of .03
I also have some some in DSPY. it isn't an equal weight but its a little less concentrated than the VOO
Its expense ratio is .18.
Still in the market but not all of eggs in one basket.
I have money in Vanguard investments but through a different brokerage. I just opened a Vanguard account last week to store my ready cash in but haven't done anything with it yet. I had to wait several days for the account to be officially activated, When I looked it just said the cash was in the brokerage account but didn't mention the sweep fund.
